• Built in 1783, with a second floor added in 1834, the Free Quaker Meeting House was the headquarters for the JLP from 1965 to 1997. Today the building is open to the public and exhibits Betsy Ross’ design for the stars of the American Flag.

  • Built in 1797, the Sweetbriar Mansion was purchased by the City of Philadelphia in 1869 to create Fairmount Park. In an agreement with the Fairmount Park Commission, the JLP raised funds to restore and furnish the mansion in collaboration with the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Sweetbriar Mansion was the headquarters of the JLP from 1927-1939.

  • Through the fundraising efforts of the Junior League of Philadelphia, the Fairmount Water Works was preserved and restored. The Fairmount Water Works is a National Historic Landmark, a Civil Engineering Landmark, and a National Mechanical Engineering Landmark.

  • Our history of operating a Thrift Shop began in 1945 with the Children’s Outgrown Shop located near Independence Hall in Philadelphia. The Shop relocated to Bryn Mawr in the 1970s and in 2004, the Shop moved to its current location at 25 West Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore.

  • The Apple a Day Healthy Living Initiative™ is the Junior League of Philadelphia, Inc.’s multi-tiered community initiative with the goal of creating a positive impact on the health and wellness of adults and children in the Greater Philadelphia area.
