Partnership with Philadelphia

Together with the City of Philadelphia and the office of Mayor Michael A. Nutter, The Junior League of Philadelphia, Inc. is proud to participate in Philadelphia's first Summer of Service Challenge: Let's Read. Let's Move. Philadelphia. This initiative is designed to get volunteers involved in activities that help young people read, exercise, and eat healthy.  This is the first of many initiatives in partnership with the Mayor's office and the City of Philadelphia.  To learn more about the Summer of Service Challenge, please click here.

Finalist in the Pepsi Refresh Project

Deadline extended!

 If awarded, the League will receive $25,000 to complete a community garden and play area at the Tanner G. Duckrey Elementary School in North Philadelphia. Vote online by clicking the button below and text 101356 to Pepsi (73774) to cast your vote. You can vote once per day online AND via text for a total of TWO VOTES EACH DAY!  Please vote every day from now until September 30, 2010.


 

Fairmount Park's Meadow Lake Wetland Project

Saturday, September 18, 9 a.m.

Food, drinks, tools, and plantings will all be provided! Activities will include general environmental clean-up, invasive plant removal, and planting of native plant species including the beautiful rose mallow from their nursery. This event is open to the public. Register now.
